After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fairhope, St. Luke's Episcopal was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Orange Beach Makos, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since August 28th.

St. Luke's Episcopal had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-15, 16-14.

Amelia Smith paced St. Luke's Episcopal's offense, picking up ten kills. Smith got some help from Baker Garside and her 27 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

St. Luke's Episcopal is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Orange Beach, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 14-13 record.

Coming up, St. Luke's Episcopal will challenge Baker at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Orange Beach, they are on the road again on Saturday to play St. Paul's Episcopal at 9:00 a.m.
