Soccer Recap: North East Starts Season with Win on the Road

North East had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Hickory Hornets 4-1 on Saturday. The score was close at halftime, but North East pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Kai Vanderweele and Josh Banaag scored all four of North East's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Looking ahead, North East will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against West Middlesex at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hickory, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Wilmington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
