Shallowater waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Slaton Tigers with a sharp 18-1 victory. The contest marked the Mustangs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Shallowater's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Slaton, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Shallowater will challenge Cooper at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Cooper 4, Shallowater 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Slaton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Slaton Tigers duke it out with Idalou Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. They have given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
