Mt. Zion and Effingham are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Braves will be playing at home against the Hearts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games Mt. Zion has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Tuesday, Mt. Zion didn't have quite enough to beat Taylorville and fell 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Mt. Zion sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-20, 26-28, 25-21.

The losing side was boosted by Addy Rotz, who had 16 digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, Effingham beat Mattoon 2-0 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Hearts in their matchups with the Greenwave: they've now won eight in a row.

Effingham never let Mattoon on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19.

Effingham's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Mt. Zion, they dropped their record down to 13-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Mt. Zion skirted past Effingham 2-1 in their previous meeting on September 4th. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Hearts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
