Softball Recap: Cor Jesu Academy vs. Mehlville Panthers        
        
		
             Cor Jesu Academy won the last time they faced Mehlville, and things went their way  on Wednesday too. Cor Jesu Academy put the hurt on the Mehlville Panthers with a sharp  8-1 victory. Considering Cor Jesu Academy has won ten contests by more than six  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Lillian Paur spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one  run (which was  unearned)  on one hit and racked up ten Ks. Those ten  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high.
 On the hitting side, Cor Jesu Academy let  Sophia Spivey and  Isabelle Hochmuth loose on the outfield. Spivey  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and a  double, while  Hochmuth  went 1-for-3 with a  home run and four  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aubrey Grimm, who  went 1-for-3 with a  triple, a  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Cor Jesu Academy  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with ten  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 Cor Jesu Academy's win was  their sixth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 19-11. As for Mehlville, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost six of their last seven matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record  this season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cor Jesu Academy will challenge Windsor at 4:15  p.m.  on Friday. As for Mehlville,  a feisty cat fight will be fought when  Panthers challenges Hazelwood West at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday.
