Preview: Eau Gallie Commodores vs. Heritage Panthers
Eau Gallie has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Heritage Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Eau Gallie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-37, which was the final score in Eau Gallie's tilt against Harmony. Eau Gallie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.
Despite the defeat, Eau Gallie had strong showings from Josh Roberts, who scored nine points along with five steals, and Joshua Brown, who scored ten points. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for Roberts.
Meanwhile, Heritage's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Timber Creek by a score of 70-62. Heritage's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Eau Gallie's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Heritage, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.
Eau Gallie ended up a good deal behind Heritage in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, losing 63-45. Can Eau Gallie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
