Basketball Recap: Kingdom Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Kingdom Christian Academy had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 73-66 to the Atholton Raiders.

Atholton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Johnson, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Lyons, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 23 points.

Atholton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Kingdom Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Atholton, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Marriotts Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on January 13, 2025.
