Basketball Recap: Linden-Kildare Takes a Loss

Linden-Kildare lost against Hawkins back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Linden-Kildare Tigers were outmatched by the Hawkins Hawks and fell 62-24. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1090th, while the Hawks are ranked 293rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Linden-Kildare and nudges their season record down to 9-12. As for Hawkins, they pushed their record up to 25-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Linden-Kildare will square off against Douglass at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Douglass will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Linden-Kildare surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hawkins, they will look to defend their home court on February 11th against Mt. Enterprise at 6:00 p.m. Hawkins knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Mt. Enterprise likes a good challenge.
