Softball Recap: Northlake Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Northlake Christian had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the De La Salle Cavalier by a score of 8-3 on Saturday. The Wolverines have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cavalier, too.

Abigail Willie made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Fraher, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

Northlake Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for De La Salle, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Coincidentally, Northlake Christian and De La Salle will both be playing Franklinton the next time they take the field. De La Salle will host Franklinton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Northlake Christian will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
