Baseball Recap: Monarch's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Monarch can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past the Niwot Cougars 9-1. The Coyotes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Charlie Pearce made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Blake Thompson was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Zander Belland, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Monarch's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Niwot, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Monarch will face off against Legacy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Coyotes will need to watch out since the Lightning have now posted at least ten runs in their last eight matchups. As for Niwot, they will host Fairview at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
