South Gibson never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels as the South Gibson Hornets made off with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Tyler Dehaan's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gage Allen, who scored two runs while going 1-for-5.

Allen wasn't the only one working in the hit department: South Gibson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton-Rosemark Academy only managed two hits.

The win made it two in a row for South Gibson and bumps their season record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.

Looking ahead, South Gibson will challenge Collierville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Collierville 1.8, South Gibson 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Tipton-Rosemark Academy, they will take on Hernando at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
