Baseball Preview: Western Warriors vs. Butler Bears

Western is 0-7 against Butler since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Western Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Butler Bears at 6:30 p.m.

Western will head into Thursday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 15-3 walloping at the hands of Jeffersontown.

Meanwhile, Butler put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Monday. They never let Iroquois onto the board and left with a 15-0 win.

Cole Shartzer looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Kody Coomer and Cole Ungar did most of the damage at the plate: Coomer scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Ungar scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Austin Malone was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Western's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Butler, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
