Softball Recap: Delhi Comes Up Short

Delhi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 18-1 to the Mariposa County Grizzlies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Wednesday.

Delhi's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Mariposa County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Delhi will host Waterford at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Mariposa County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gustine at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Reds have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
