Basketball Recap: Teagan Collins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead George West over Taft

George West lost against Taft back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The George West Longhorns fell 64-53 to the Taft Greyhounds. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

George West lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Teagan Collins, who went 7 for 16 en route to 20 points. What's more, Collins also racked up four rebounds, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Tristen Blevins was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.

George West's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Taft, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-12.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Odem the next time they take the court. George West will host Odem at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while Taft will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
