Baseball Recap: Rock Canyon Jaguars vs. Heritage Eagles
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cherry Creek, Rock Canyon was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Heritage Eagles by a score of 12-9. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Damian Fischer made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Fischer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and one run. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Will Wendeborn looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rock Canyon is undefeated when Wendeborn allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Rock Canyon got a massive performance out of Zach Perry, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs Perry has posted since back in May of 2024. Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rock Canyon will head out to square off against Mountain Vista at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Heritage, they are taking a road trip to challenge Chaparral at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
