Baseball Recap: Loyola Takes a Loss

Loyola extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-7 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cleveland Clippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on April 7th.

As for Cleveland, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-3. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly two runs.

For Cleveland's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Lyons, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Loyola has already played their next game (against Sleepy Eye), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Cleveland, they will take on Martin County West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Clippers are facing the Mavericks at the right time seeing as the Mavericks are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
