Filer won the last time they faced Wood River, and Jarrett Mai did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wildcats took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-9 victory over the Wolverines thanks in part to Mai, who rushed for 188 yards and three TDs on only six carries, and also picked up 84 receiving yards and one touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 98-yard run.

The win made it two in a row for Filer and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. As for Wood River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Filer will host Battle Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wildcats 8.8, the Longhorns 3.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Wood River, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Buhl at 7:00 p.m. The Indians' defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so the Wolverines' offense will have their work cut out for them.
