Football Recap: Cypress Creek Coyotes vs. Springstead Eagles

Cypress Creek lost against Springstead back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Coyotes took a 21-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Patrick Cognetta threw for 150 yards and one TD. Aden Hicks was his top target, picking up 66 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Jayden Fountain rushed for 55 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Springstead to victory, but perhaps none more so than William Figueroa, who rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Tysen Norton, who threw for 108 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes.

Cypress Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Springstead, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Cypress Creek will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wesley Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Springstead, they will take on Nature Coast Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sharks' defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
