Softball Recap: Brown Bears vs. Southern Trojans
After flying high against Western two weeks ago, Brown came back down to earth. The Brown Bears fell just short of the Southern Trojans by a score of 20-19 on Tuesday. Brown has not had much luck with Southern recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
For Southern's part, they got a massive performance out of Ella Davis, who scored three runs while going 6-for-6. Morghan Dunn was another key contributor, scoring three runs while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.
Brown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Southern, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brown is on the road again on Wednesday to play Central at 5:00 p.m. Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Brown surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southern, they will head out on the road to take on Fern Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
