Basketball Game Preview: Hutchinson Tigers vs. Marshall Tigers

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Hutchinson is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Hutchinson took a blow against Mound-Westonka, falling 81-49. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the White Hawks are ranked 97th).

Meanwhile, Marshall posted their closest win since December 30, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 74-71 victory over St. Peter.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Hutchinson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Hutchinson came out on top in a nail-biter against Marshall in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 83-81. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hutchinson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
