Basketball Recap: Hickman's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hickman lost to Tipton back in January of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Hickman Kewpies snuck past the Tipton Cardinals with a 73-68 win. The Kewpies' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Hickman's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Tipton, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickman won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Blue Valley Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hickman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Blue Valley Northwest likes a good challenge. As for Tipton, they will square off against Pine Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
