Baseball Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

Clinton extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-11. They fell 5-1 to the Madison Trojans. The Redskins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Clinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cliff Jones, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

As for Madison, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

On Madison's side, Bryson Ballantyne tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Ballantyne has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Norman Frederick, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Ashton Hoag was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

While Clinton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
