 Pope John Paul II scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pottstown Trojans  an   18-0 shutout. The  win was a breath of fresh air for Pope John Paul II as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
  Abby Simmers made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (she also only allowed one  walk). Simmers was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news, Pope John Paul II let  Hannah Satalin and  Molly Houchins loose on the outfield. Satalin  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Houchins  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Mariesa Osorio, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Pope John Paul II's victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
 Pope John Paul II didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  5-3  win vs. Phoenixville on the 15th. As for Pottstown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Boyertown at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Pottstown is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
