Softball Recap: Knappa's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Gervais last Wednesday, Knappa came back down to earth. The Loggers fell just short of the Clatskanie Tigers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mylie Lempea made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Kate Maher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Knappa's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3-1. As for Clatskanie, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clatskanie beat Knappa by a score of 11-1 later that day.
