Baseball Game Preview: Landstown Eagles vs. Maury Commodores

The Landstown Eagles will face off against the Maury Commodores at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Landstown 3.2, Maury 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Thursday, Landstown got the win against Kempsville by a conclusive 8-1. Considering the Eagles have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Aidan Ross was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colin Kim, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Cam Tellefsen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Maury never let their opponents score on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Booker T. Washington 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Commodores.

Landstown is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Maury, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2.
