Softball Recap: Comer Comes Up Short

Comer blew Winterboro out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Winterboro got their revenge. The Comer Tigers fell just short of the Winterboro Bulldogs by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Bulldogs since March 9, 2018.

Comer has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. With the win, Winterboro broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-7.

Coincidentally, Comer and Winterboro will both be playing Talladega the next time they take the field. Comer will host Talladega at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Winterboro will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
