Recap: Marriotts Ridge vs. Oxon Hill Clippers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marriotts Ridge can now relate to. They lost to Oxon Hill on the road by a decisive 18-0 margin on Friday. Marriotts Ridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cameron Azodeh was on fire for Oxon Hill: he rushed for 218 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Azodeh really tore up the turf during one magnificent 83-yard run. Aaron Ayodeji was another key contributor, rushing for 47 yards and a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Oxon Hill's defense and their three sacks. Ranzy Dowe was especially locked on to Marriotts Ridge's QB and sacked him twice.
Marriotts Ridge has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Oxon Hill, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 5-5 record.
Marriotts Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Oxon Hill will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Hebron at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Mt. Hebron is ranked 90th, while Oxon Hill is ranked 110th).
