Basketball Recap: Barnesville Comes Up Short at Home Against Caldwell

Barnesville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Caldwell Redskins on Wednesday. The Shamrocks haven't had much luck with the Redskins recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Caldwell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Guiler Preston, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Preston a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Dalton Egnot, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

Caldwell has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Barnesville is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Monroe Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Shamrocks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Caldwell, they will square off against Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
