It was a good run, but James Wood unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Fauquier Falcons by a score of 3-2. The Colonels were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

James Wood's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Fauquier, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. James Wood will face off against rival Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fauquier is set to take on their familiar foe Kettle Run at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 3.9, the Cougars 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
