Football Game Preview: DuBois Beavers vs. Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers

DuBois hasn't had much luck against Hollidaysburg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Beavers will take on the Golden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. DuBois has given up an average of 26.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, DuBois ended up a good deal behind Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion] and lost 35-19.

Meanwhile, Hollidaysburg put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Williamsport 69-6. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-0.

DuBois better keep an eye on Carter Muth. He was instrumental in Hollidaysburg's win, rushing for 166 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. Cole Delattre was another key player, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

Hollidaysburg was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 358 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Hollidaysburg didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Vincent Albarano, Vincent Consiglio, Kasen Metzger, and JJ Stultz picked up one apiece. Hollidaysburg received some extra help from Isaac Wallace, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Hollidaysburg's record now sits at 9-0. As for DuBois, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Trey Wingard and Delattre. Wingard just won't slow down this season and has thrown 36 touchdowns while averaging 268.4 passing yards per game. Delattre has been a dominant force too and has averaged 93.9 passing yards per game.

DuBois came up short against Hollidaysburg in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 28-23. Can the Beavers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
