Wheatland hadn't done well against Lincoln recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Pirates blew past the Fighting Zebras 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Pirates, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-10, 25-18.

Lia Azevedo paced Wheatland's offense, picking up ten kills. Azevedo got some help from Miranda Wilke and her 31 assists. Raelene Raynor controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

The win made it two in a row for Wheatland and bumps their season record up to 8-5. As for Lincoln, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Wheatland will challenge Center at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Vacaville on the 27th.
