Basketball Game Preview: Osakis Silverstreaks vs. Spectrum Sting

The Osakis Silverstreaks will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Spectrum Sting at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Spectrum is hoping to do what Long Prairie-Grey Eagle couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Osakis' winning streak, which now stands at three games. Osakis simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 75-32.

Meanwhile, Spectrum lost to Blake at home by a 85-70 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Sting can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Bears are ranked 15th).

Osakis' victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Spectrum, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
