Baseball Game Preview: Amboy Clippers vs. Putnam County Panthers

The Amboy Clippers will square off against the Putnam County Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Amboy has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Putnam County will arrive with three straight victories.

Amboy fell victim to River Ridge/Scales Mound and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Putnam County). Everything went their way against Newark on Saturday as they made off with a 12-2 win. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Amboy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Putnam County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
