Kendreyeus Johnson and Anton Carter Jr. secure win for Nottoway

Recap: Nottoway Cougars vs. Randolph-Henry Statesmen

The Nottoway Cougars have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They secured a 47-41 W over Randolph-Henry on Tuesday. This was payback for Nottoway, who suffered a 62-60 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Nottoway to victory were Kendreyeus Johnson and Anton Carter Jr.. Johnson almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds, while Carter Jr. scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Carter Jr. is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 14 games he's played.

Nottoway's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Randolph-Henry, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nottoway will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Amelia County at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Nottoway focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday. As for Randolph-Henry, they will head out on the road to take on Appomattox County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
