Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jay'mari Redmond and King Johnson Lead Warren to Victory

Warren proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 51) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Artesia Pioneers 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since December 13, 2023.

Warren was led to victory by King Johnson and Jay'Mari Redmond. Johnson posted 20 points, while Redmond put up 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Eric Gallardo Jr., who had six points.

Warren has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Artesia, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 14-6 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren will host Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Downey's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Artesia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oxford Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
