Butler had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the Lakeside Panthers to the tune of 73-44 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their 15th in a row dating back to last season.
Kwamane Bridges had a dynamite game, shooting 61% from the field to rack up 32 points and four steals. The matchup was his third in a row with at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Decori Fleming, who posted 11 points.
Butler was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeside only posted six.
Isaiah Walker and Joey Curkovic certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Walker put up 12 points and five rebounds, while Curkovic had six points and seven boards.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Butler will venture away from home to challenge Cross Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeside, they will head out to take on Northside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
