Basketball Recap: Greensburg Triumphs

The third road contest was the charm for Greensburg, as they earned their first road win of the season. They pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over the Triton Central Tigers on Friday. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 50-38 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Greensburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacoby Miller, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Miller a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack McKinsey, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 18 points.

Despite the loss, Triton Central still got an impressive performance from Eli Sego, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. The matchup was Sego's third in a row with at least ten points. Max Crouse was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points.

The win got Greensburg back to even at 2-2. As for Triton Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Greensburg will head out to challenge Jennings County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jennings County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Greensburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Triton Central, they will host Christel House at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th.
