Baseball Recap: Eaton Extends Home Winning Streak to 22

Eaton entered their tilt with Brush on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Beetdiggers by a score of 6-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-2 back in March.

Eaton got a great performance from Gunnar Garrison as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Garrison has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Eaton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Nider, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run was Nider's first of the season. Another was Jackson Denooy, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Eaton's win was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Brush, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-4.

Coincidentally, Eaton and Brush will both be playing Sterling the next time they take the field. The Beetdiggers will host the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Reds will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
