Baseball Recap: Salida Takes a Loss

Salida lost against La Junta on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-2 to the Tigers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Salida saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tao Adams, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Salida's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for La Junta, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-14 record this season.

Salida will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Woodland Park at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th. As for La Junta, they will challenge Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunder have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
