Softball Recap: Breathitt County Bobcats vs. Leslie County Eagles
Breathitt County put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Leslie County Eagles a 9-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for Breathitt County who now have four in a row.
Catlin Pennington made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Pennington has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts every time she's pitched this season. Pennington was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Mahala Bowling was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Cheylee Turner was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
