Volleyball Recap: Eliana Sweet Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Central

Lutheran won the last time they faced Central and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0.

Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eliana Sweet, who had eight assists and three aces. That's the most aces Sweet has posted since back in September.

Sweet wasn't the only good servers: Lutheran was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matches.

Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 9-14-1. As for Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13-3.

Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Nixa on the 11th. As for Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Springfield Catholic on the 10th.
