Softball Recap: Grants Gets the Win

While Grants's victory against Rehoboth Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lynx 7-5. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Lynx recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Alynn Othole spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Delilah Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Aubrhyanna Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Grants' win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Rehoboth Christian, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

Grants wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-8 victory against Laguna Acoma on the 14th. As for Rehoboth Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-10 win against Navajo Prep on the 15th.
