Football Recap: Bayshore Skates Past IMG Academy State with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bayshore). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the IMG Academy State Ascenders 57-7. With the Bruins ahead 51-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Jaydis Wiley produced another solid performance throwing for 257 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 34 yards and a pair of scores. Bayshore's leading receiver Camdon Stancil was Wiley's top target yet again, picking up 81 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jayden Gibson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Bayshore didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ky'Mani Reed and Marquis Spry. Spry is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

The win was the third in a row for Bayshore, bringing their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.7 points over those games. As for IMG Academy State, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Bayshore is taking a road trip to square off against Booker at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 984 yards in their previous games. As for IMG Academy State, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Out-of-Door Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder's defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so the Ascenders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
