Baseball Recap: Exeter Find Success

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Exeter brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let the Verona Wildcats get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.

Brexton Bowman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Ed Lokot was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Noah Jordan, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Exeter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Exeter's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Verona, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Exeter will square off against Southwest at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Verona, they will take on Greenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
