Baseball Game Preview: St. John's Northwestern Military Academy Lancers vs. Random Lake Rams

The St. John's Northwestern Military Academy Lancers will venture away from home to square off against the Random Lake Rams at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. St. John's Northwestern Military Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played St. Francis, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Lancers were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Mariners on Friday. The Lancers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28th (when they won 10-0).

Matthias Ericksen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs. He has become a key player for St. John's Northwestern Military Academy: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Matthew Dula was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Andy Hundt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Random Lake narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Kohler 8-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

The team relied heavily on Griffin Donahue, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Zach Schneider, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

St. John's Northwestern Military Academy's record is now 7-9. As for Random Lake, their record now sits at 17-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal.
