It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Westerly had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Cumberland Clippers. The win was just business as usual for the Bulldogs, who after 20 matches remain undefeated this season.

Westerly had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-23.

Lyla Auth paced Westerly's offense, picking up 21 kills. Auth got some help from Alison Maranda and her 21 assists. Maranda was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

When it comes to explaining why Cumberland lost, don't look at Mia Hamel. Despite the final result, she had 19 digs and four aces. Hamel is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Westerly's victory bumped their record up to 20-0. As for Cumberland, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

As of now, neither Westerly nor the Clippers have any future games scheduled.
