Newton and Flora are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Newton Eagles are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against the Flora Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Newton is leaving town to face Flora after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Newton lost 10-0 to Fairfield on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Newton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Ferguson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Flora scored first but ultimately less than Mt. Carmel in their contest on Monday. They fell 6-3 to the Golden Aces.

Newton was able to grind out a solid win over Flora when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newton since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
