Basketball Recap: Adrian Matadors vs. Accelerate Christian Warriors
Adrian kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Accelerate Christian Warriors. The Matadors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Jaxon Leyendecker had a dynamite game for Accelerate Christian, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Leyendecker a new career-high in offensive rebounds (six). Jaxon McKnight was another key player, earning six points along with five rebounds.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Adrian will take on Lazbuddie at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Accelerate Christian, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they face off against Holy Cross Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
