Softball Recap: Ballard Memorial Continues Road Dominance on Saturday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ballard Memorial ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against the Frankfort Panthers by a score of 8-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bombers.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on M Nichols, who fired off three triples, two runs, and two RBI while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was T Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Ballard Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frankfort only managed four hits.

Ballard Memorial pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Frankfort, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Ballard Memorial will square off against Shelby Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Frankfort, they will face off against Western Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
