Baseball Recap: McLouth Gets the Win

McLouth hadn't done well against Pleasant Ridge recently (they were 1-7-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bulldogs skirted past the Rams 11-10. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 on Thursday.

Peyton Wyatt was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Trevor Carleton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: McLouth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got McLouth back to even at 8-8. As for Pleasant Ridge, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. McLouth will head out to take on Atchison County at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pleasant Ridge, they will venture away from home to square off against Oskaloosa at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.06 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
